Michael AuBuchon joined Southwest in 2000, serving in various facilities and legal affairs positions. In 2015, Michael accepted a new role as Director of Fuel Supply Chain Management. After being promoted to Senior Director in 2018, he now serves as Managing Director – Fuel Strategy & Management.
Michael’s Team manages billions of dollars and billions of gallons of jet fuel, including planning, scheduling, logistics, on- and off-airport storage/fuel consortia management, into-plane management, fuel quality and compliance, and fuel automation support/fuel accounting. Michael’s Team is also responsible for Southwest’s exploration, planning, and ultimate deployment of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) – helping further Southwest’s goal to replace 10% of total jet fuel consumption with SAF by 2030 and to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Michael is a 1995 graduate of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma (Bachelor of Science, Aviation Sciences, with honors) and a 1999 graduate of Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa (Juris Doctorate). He has been a Texas-licensed attorney since 1999.

Brandon Rick has dedicated 13 years to the agricultural supply chain, building his career with the global agribusiness leader ADM. His journey has spanned roles across Accounting, Finance, Continuous Improvement, and Sustainability, where he has consistently demonstrated how key financial insights drive successful transportation initiatives. Currently serving as Fleet and Sustainability Manager for ADM Trucking, Brandon oversees a private fleet of over 550 Class 8 semi-trucks and more than 1,300 bulk trailers. He is also at the helm of ADM Transportation’s emissions reduction strategy, setting a roadmap for substantial progress through 2035.
Over the past year, Brandon has spearheaded transformative sustainability projects, including converting fleet tractors to B100 biodiesel, boosting biofuel use in marine applications along intercoastal waterways, and deploying advanced fuels strategically within ADM’s fleet and its extensive network of common carriers across rail, trucking, and marine sectors. His work underscores ADM’s commitment to sustainable, innovative solutions in transportation

Jon Scharingson serves as the Executive Director, Strategic Initiatives Sales for Chevron Renewable Energy Group based in Ames, IA. Mr. Scharingson previously held the role of Executive Director of Sales and Marketing at Chevron Renewable Energy Group. He joined legacy REG in 2007.
In his role he leads business development efforts in the developing low carbon marine fuel market in North America. His team also leads efforts in bringing low carbon fuel solutions to fleets in the public and private sector.
Prior to joining Renewable Energy Group, Mr. Scharingson spent 17 years in the seeds, crop protection and agriculture biotechnology industries working for Imperial Chemical Industries, AstraZeneca and Syngenta. He held several senior management roles in business strategy, business development and marketing. Mr. Scharingson has a BBA in Management and an MBA in Marketing from Iowa State University.
