Ben Hengst is the Deputy Director of EPA’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ), whose staff are located in Washington D.C. and Ann Arbor, MI. OTAQ is charged with developing and implementing EPA’s air pollution and climate change policies for the transportation sector, including light and heavy duty cars and trucks, off-road vehicles (including aviation and marine), and fuels. Ben’s portfolio includes a range of climate change, air quality, and energy topics, with a focus on developing and implementing fuels-related policies and programs. He holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Johns Hopkins University.
