Nick Smith is President, North America Energy & Biofuels, at ADM. In this position, Smith oversees ADM’s North American energy sourcing including natural gas, power and coal as well as its portfolio on bio-derived fuels including ethanol and biodiesel.

Smith previously held the position of Vice President, EMEA, Refineries, Packaged plants and Biodiesel at ADM where he was responsible for eight liquid oil refineries, three biodiesel facilities, a glycerin refinery, specialty oil refinery and a packing plant in the UK. Smith also held executive oversight of the strategic plan for the EMEA region and full P&L responsibility.

An experienced commodity trader and asset manager, Smith previously served as General Manager, North American and European Biodiesel for ADM, overseeing ADM’s U.S. and Canadian biodiesel plants. He was previously responsible for all commercial activities and full risk management for ADM’s biodiesel facilities in Europe.

Smith earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southampton and has been with ADM since 2005.
