Richard Battersby has over 30 years of experience in the fleet industry with over 25 years in alternative fuel vehicles including the implementation of the first ever alternative fuel vehicle program for Airborne Express freight company, the EV Sacramento program, and the State of California CNG and hybrid electric vehicle expansion programs. He is responsible for fielding over 3,000 alternative fuel vehicles, and was involved in the design and construction of numerous alternative fuel and EV charging stations throughout California.

Richard speaks frequently on clean air vehicle subjects at industry events and has participated in the successful award of over $15 million in clean air vehicle and infrastructure project funding. Richard holds multiple ASE Master Technician certifications and was inducted into both the DOE Clean Cities and Public Fleet Manager Halls of Fame. Most recently, Richard received the Legendary Lifetime Achievement Award from the Public Fleet Manager Hall of Fame, and the Benjamin Watson Inspirational Award from the Clean Cities Coalition Council. He has been with East Bay Clean Cities Coalition since 1998 and has served as the Coordinator and Executive Director since 2003. He also serves as a board member of the Transportation Energy Partners, Green Driving America, and the Bay Area Electric Vehicle Strategic Council and as Chairperson of the NAFA Fleet Management Association’s California Air Resources Board Committee.
